TitleTwister

TitleTwister is a game of untwisting letters to figure out the well known movies, TV shows, songs, books, broadway plays, and video game titles. Your score is based on how fast you untwist the title correctly. You can ask for a hint if you need help, but it will cost you points. You can check your answer at any time, but if you’re wrong, you will lose points. The game starts out at the maximum possible score based on the number of letters within the title. If you need some help, you can select the HINT button and a letter will placed on the board for you in the correct spot and will be locked into place. If all the letters are in their correct position when you select CHECK, you will win the game! When you start a new game, randomly some of the title board tiles will be gold with COIN value in them. If you win by solving the title before your score reaches zero then you win that amount of COINS. You can use those COINS to buy free HINTS or CHECKS in the game store. You can also purchase COINS, if you so choose, through an in app purchase. Game stats are kept to see how well you’re playing and you can compare stats to other players through our leaderboard.

Screen Layout

Across the top of the screen you have three icons: CHECKS, HINTS, and COINS. Next to these icons displays the number of free CHECKS, HINTS, or COINS you have earned or purchased from store.

Along the Botton of the screen is the MENU. The menu is your navigation to start a NEW game, CHECK to see if your title is correct, give you a HINT in case your stuck, QUIT the current game, check your STATS, enter the STORE, or get HELP to read how to play the game.

Select the NEW button to start the game..

Select your Game Type

You can select single or multiplayer game. For single player games it you against the clock to solve the title before your time runs out. Multiplayer games require a Game Center account to play and you will be able to play with a friend or with any other random TitleTwister player.

Select your Category

You can select your specific category, or select RANDOM where the game will randomly select a category for you.

SCORE

At the top left of the screen, your game score is displayed. You start off the game with the maximum score based on the number of letters within the title you are playing. Once you game score reaches 0 you lose the game.

Time

At the top right of your screen, your game time is displayed. For each game, an amount of time it should take you to untwist the title is calculated based on the number of letters in the title. Once you game time has reach the calculated time, you will lose 5 points from your game score for every 10 seconds your game time is over the calculated time.

Blank TIles

Just under the Category, the title is laid out with blank tiles. The words are separated by spaces. Some of the tiles will have coin values in them. If you solve the title and when the game you will also win the amount of coins displayed in the coin tiles.

Letter Tiles

The letter tiles are below the blank title tiles and are randomly ordered. To play, select the letter tile and drag it up to one of the blank tile spaces. Repeat until the title is solved or until your score reaches zero.

Level

Just above the Menu bar show the level indicator and progress bar. This is only visible during game play but can also be viewed on the stats screen.

Check Button

If you think you have solved the title, select the Check button. Letters that are correct will be locked in with a green background. For letters that are incorrect the background will remain black. Unless you have purchased FREE CHECKS, each CHECK will cost you five points.

Hint Button

If you need help solving the title, select the HINT button and a random letter will be selected for you and locked into place. Unless you have purchased free HINTS each HINT will cost you 10 points.

Clear Button

Rather than drag each tile back down to the bottom, select the CLEAR button to reset the tiles that have not been locked in.

Shuffel Button

To help you visualize what the title may be, select the shuffle button just above the menu bar to resequence the letter tiles so you can get a different look at what the title may be.

Quit Button

If you need to quit the game for any reason, select the QUIT button. You will be asked again to make sure you do wish to resign the game. If you do choose to resign the game, you will be asked if you would like to solve the puzzle to see what the title was you were playing.

Returns the menu to the main menu options. .

Stats Button

The STATS buttons will display game play statistics as well as Game Center Leaderboards and Achievements.

Store Button

The STORE provides a selection of purchases using coins or in app purchases.

Help Button

Provides an overview of the game and game play.

SOUND Button

By pressing the SOUND button, you can turn on or off the in game sounds.

Stats Button

TitleTwister keep track of you stats. Overall game score, score efficiency (points/max points for all games played), average score per game, wins, losses, resigns, average hints used per game, and average checks per game.

Multiplayer stats have been added to track your Wins, Losses, and Ties against other players.

Leaderboard

Selecting the Leaderboard button will display how you compare to other TitleTwister players with total score and total wins. Leaderboards are available for both single and multiplayer game types.

Achievements

For multiplayer game types, achievements have been added. Once an achievement has been reached coins will be rewarded.

Store Button

Selecting the Store button will give you the opportunity to purchase HINTS and CHECKS using the coins you have earned. You can purchase COINS from the store to buy HINTS and CHECKS if you choose. There is also an option to watch ads to earn additional points. You can only watch 3 ads within a two hour period.
